An extraordinary meeting was called by our Betriebsrat to announce to ALL staff that the awaited CBA would not be signed. The TK and and the BR had agreed to withhold this information in the hopes of meeting with the board to clarify our position and hopefully come to an agreement. As the Board can not meet with us until the end of September, we decided to make the announcement to all staff. The last information that staff had indicated that a CBA would be signed for the beginning of this school year and we felt it important to let staff know that this would not be the case and allow them to ask questions.
Dr. Sorenson was invited to this meeting to also speak to staff about the state of affairs and how we would proceed going forward. Dr. Sorenson came with new information and shared that the Board needed time to review the document but that they are open to meeting with the BR and the TK.
The TK and the BR will work together to prepare a presentation with the aim to convince the Board of the value in a CBA for all staff. We continue to appreciate the support that Dr. Sorenson is providing.
